The festival is back at our new perfect home Birgit&Bier and we’re all going green for the day that’s in it! As was the case last year, the final day of the 6 Nations rugby tournament will provide a wonderful backdrop to the day, but we’ve got so much more going on!
𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 (𝗛𝗼𝗳)
We have an enticing collection of indoor and outdoor spaces this year with a cracking all-day line-up for you:
▶ 15:00 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆 with Ireland’s Deputy Ambassador to Ireland, the bagpipers from The Berlin Pipe Company and an Irish dancing performance from Jigs & Reels Irish Dance Academy Berlin
▶ 15:45 The Snakes are Back in Town (set 1) -> TAU frontman Sean Mulrooney, along with David and Rory blasted out the Irish tunes to close out last year’s festival, so it’s only fitting they get things going this time around.
▶ 17:30 The Broken Jug Ramblers -> A foot-stomping ensemble of incredibly talented live musicians: Jon (vocals, banjo), Tob (vocals, guitar), Alex (vocals, fiddle), Feix (vocals, washtub bass) and Tuz (vocals, spoons, melodica) will be joined on stage for the first time by female vocalist Jessica for this special performance. This old time whiskey music with strong Bluegrass roots is sure to get the crowd going with a mixture of traditional songs and their own thumping tunes.
▶ 19:30 The Sunbeams -> Germany’s favourite Irish pub band, Sam (vocals), Nick (bass) and Andy (drums) will blow the socks off the place with their unique blend of rock-pop-punk-funk-soul-hiphop-reggae-dancin’ kind of music!
▶ 21:00 The Snakes are Back in Town -(set 2) > The lads will be back on stage for us again later in the evening for a final blast of cracking Irish ballads.
𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 (𝗪𝗼𝗵𝗻𝘇𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿)
Wilder Garten present an interactive, cross-disciplinary, creative environment, showcasing art, music and jam sessions. With so many musicians knocking around the place, expect plenty of surprises on stage!

▶ 16:00 Kilkelly
▶ 17:00 Storyteller Chris Rogers
▶ 18:00 Simon Fagan
▶ 19:00 Siar An Bóthar
▶ 20:00 Joe Marshall
▶ 21:00 Wilder Paddy’s Jam + Co-Creation
▶ Midnight until late -> DJ Sara Miller
𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲 – Guinness Six Nations
The final day of one of the greatest sporting competitions in the world. Will Ireland be playing for the chance to win the championship? Will Wales be on a Grand Slam? It hardly matters as they’ll need no extra motivation as these titans face off. Then in the later game can we all watch Scotland steal a Grand Slam from England? We’ll have all 3 games live on a huge screen in the ridiculously long market hall:
▶ 13:30 Italy vs France
▶ 15:45 Wales vs Ireland
▶ 18:00 England vs Scotland
𝗪𝗲𝗿𝗸𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘁
Our friends at Setanta Berlin GAA will be making the fun Werkstatt space their own for the day, with Gaelic games exhibitions and kids’ activities. There’s also a huge merry-go-round just outside!
▶ 16:00 Children’s Ceilidh (traditional Irish dance)
▶ 18:00 Storyteller Chris Rogers will have the kids captivated once again this year with his beautiful tales of old.
𝗥𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗹
Just in case things get a bit too cosy in the Markthalle, we’ll be using the Rummel for overflow during the rugby. Outside of that, expect to find artists displaying some work in a chilled atmosphere. Perfect for taking a load off on the comfy sofas with a creamy pint of the black stuff!
▶ 18:00 The Brave Believing Dreamers – An Irish electro punk opera with accompanying visual effects.
▶ 22:00 DJ Le Fox
𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱, 𝗖𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗸𝗲
HelloGoodFood Catering will have their delicious stews on offer for us again this year (Roast vegetables & lenti (vegan) / Beef & Guinness) alongside tasty burgers. They will be joined by the good people down at Neukölln’s Crazy Bastard Sauce offering potato cakes with hot sauce and curry-cheese chips (vegan).
An Siopa Berlin will be selling a range of Irish goods, including groceries, crisps (Tayto of course), sweets, biscuits and tea bags. They will also have Irish fashion and souvenir items available and you’ll be able to get a hot cup of tea and a scone.
Our resident Rolling Barista will also be on hand and you can get delicious cakes at the Setanta stall again this year! We’re also delighted that PRO Berlin GAA will be joining us on the day.
▶ 𝗚𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻
In conjunction with Berlin start-up Plan A we will be contributing €1 of all ticket sales and 5% of sponsorship raised to fund a new permanent binee collection point for electrical waste in Berlin.
▶ Berlin-Ireland Pro Choice Solidarity will be raising funds and awareness for Alliance for Choice, who are campaigning for abortion rights in Northern Ireland.
Finally, we would like to give a special thank you to the staff and support from the Embassy of Ireland Berlin
